They will be able to enhance technology because they can make it personal. One thing that I've learned from history of educational technology that can help shape today's uses is that teachers always will be more important than technology. Also, my niece has taken a long distance learning class which was very beneficial because there wasn't a teacher at her school that could teach Spanish. Taking online classes has helped me out tremendously by saving time from not traveling and due to the fact that I have 3 year old energetic twins who require time and attention. If we constantly remind our children of the dangers then maybe it'll make them more aware of what they choose to add to their Facebook page or any websites.Īnother issue that has shaped the role of technology in education is relying on internet and distance education. I think that this applies to everyone because if we constantly fill our minds with good thoughts then we'll behave accordingly. This is very scary for our children, however when I look back to my notes in another class it states that a teacher's thoughts influences her teaching. It's amazing to think that there is a website that is able to check all papers, so students will avoid plagiarism. I was surprised when I took my first online class and had to use. It has 200 levels with each level becoming more difficult as they progress through the puzzles. This software is a puzzle game in which the students are presented with an objective. It would work well in a computer lab or as a learning center. It offers activities on 4 different skill levels. This software is appropriate for children ages 5-9 who are working on their reading and language skills. Instructional Games ~ Mia's Reading Adventure: The Bugaboo Bugs This software requires patience because it requires the students to raise animals to help make a healthy ecosystem. ![]() It has three different levels from ages 6-12. The students learn a balance of the ecosystem and preservation of environment. Simulation ~ Wildlife Tycoon: Venture Africa The teacher can print the performance of a child after each lesson. They get to play a game after each lesson they learned. Then it progresses through practice drills in order to improve their typing speed. It teaches them posture and home row keys. There are 20 lessons that are offered in a recommended sequence. Or, it can be used after the students finish their work or during a center rotation. In the computer lab, the students can practice on their individual level. The program will automatically move the student to the next level once they master their current level. The teacher can target specific student's needs and can monitor their progress. The students would practice basic math facts and gain automatic recall.
